Hope Among the Storm: Winter Holiday stories of Family and Hope, an anthology published by
Three Ravens Publishing Company in conjunction with PNWA (Pacific Northwest Writers Association).

I’m sad to report I had to put Koda down a week before Thanksgiving. A tumor on his chest ruptured plus he had
gastroenteritis and a bad heart and was very confused and the Vet couldn’t keep him in the doggie hospital.
She agreed to put him out of his misery because a ruptured malignant tumor never heals. I could not stop crying.
Koda was like family to me. I don’t plan to get another dog for a while. |

On a happier note, my siblings, in-laws and my boyfriend and I gathered at The Davenport Hotel in downtown Spokane
for Christmas Tree Elegance Week which was a fundraiser for The Spokane Symphony. Brother Larry treated us to lunch
in the Isabella Room. The last time our family attended this event was eight years ago. |

Participants purchase a $1 ticket and insert it into the box. The organizers draw out a winning ticket for a free
decorated tree and/or other prizes. I spent $25 and put a ticket in each box for 9 different decorated trees and
inserted 15 tickets on Tree # 1 which had a cash prize of $4,500. I’ll let you know if I win anything. |
